Aircosaver

Objective:  To get a basic understanding of the AircoSaver

40-65% of electricity costs are from air conditioning. AircoSaver lowers AC energy costs 20-30%.

There are two types of air-conditioning units

1.      Split systems- Evaporator and condenser are in two separate locations. The evaporator is located inside usually in a closet or attic and the condenser (compressor) is located outside.

Usual applications would be small business and residential. Placement of AircoSaver would be in the evaporator.

2.      Package Units- Evaporator and condenser are located in one location. Most common units would be Roof Top Units (RTU’s). Usual applications would be large commercial and schools.

AircoSaver operates from sensor driven software algorithms to detect thermodynamic saturation and control compressor run times. AircoSaver detects and controls the compressors run times when it is full and has reached its coldest temperature.

“So you’re going to short cycle my compressor.”

Statement from Copeland Compressors: It’s not the amount of times a compressor starts that is harmful. It is the length of time between starts that is critical.

AircoSaver has a minimum stop time of 3 minutes but will stop cycles between 3-10 minutes to help protect the life span of the compressor. New temperature controlling devices and AC units run cycles with 3 minute stop times to give the compressor time to cool. This helps protect the lifespan of the compressor.

What makes AircoSaver so unique? AircoSaver is constantly adapting its settings to inside demand requirements and outside weather conditions so it does not interfere with cooling.

The 24V model is what we offer in the USA for up to 20 ton package units.

They are 6” long 2” wide and weighs a few ounces. AircoSaver has a sensor that is placed in the coldest part of the evaporator which should be installed by a licensed HVAC technician.
